Holy Spirit Catholic School
General Information

Holy Spirit School, established in 1954, is a state chartered, Catholic elementary school of Holy Spirit Parish, under the auspices of the Diocese of Columbus Office of Catholic Schools. By offering academic excellence in a Catholic Christian environment, Holy Spirit makes a unique contribution to the range of educational choices available in the community.

Holy Spirit school admits students of any race, color, gender or ethnic origin to all its rights, privileges, programs and activities. The school will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender or the administration of its educational programs and athletics/extra curricular activities.

The school is open to students of families who sincerely seek the religious nature of our program. New admissions are subject to the approval of the principal who will exercise discretion so as to assure enrollment for good and proper reasons, consistent with the school’s philosophy and mission. Holy Spirit School will not enroll a student for whom financial obligations to this or other schools of the Diocese remain unpaid.

It is the school's policy to follow Diocesan Policy 4110.00, regarding Background Checks:
All paid staff must have on file both BCI and FBI background checks and must attend "Protecting God's Children". All volunteers must have on file a BCI background check and must attend "Protecting God's Children" no matter how much or how little contact the have with children or youth, no matter if volunteering for the school or parish, and no matter what time of day or night they volunteer.

Catholic schools are schools of choice. Any parent who wishes to have a Catholic education for his/her child agrees that the parent and child will abide by the policies and regulations of the school. If the policies and/or regulations are not adhered to, or if the school determines that attendance by a student will not be continued, the child may be asked by the principal and/or pastor at the elementary level to leave the school. Newly accepted students are on a probationary period for one quarter. After the quarter ends, the administration, with advice from the teachers, will make a decision as to the progress of the child.
