General Information

Sports programs at Holy Spirit School are offered in cooperation with the Diocesan Recreation Association - Diocese of Columbus. Responsibility for these programs are under the hospices of The Men's Club, which appoints the Athletic Director, as well as commissioners for each sport.

The overall objectives of Holy Spirit's Athletic Programs are to: unite the youth of our school and parish, and to help promote their spiritual, physical and social welfare by bringing Catholic truths, principles and ideals into their everyday lives. The Diocesan Programs are designed to: promote good sportsmanship, build character, develop the individual person, provide an atmosphere for caring, reflecting the importance of good teamwork, provide enjoyment, and to make our young participants better people because of their involvement in the Christian-influenced Diocesan Programs.

Holy Spirit students in Grades 4-8 have the opportunity to participate in the following sports:

Girls' Softball
Boys' Basketball
CYO Basketball (High School)

Students may also participate with other Diocesan schools in the following sports:
Track & Field
Field Hockey

Please contact the Athletic Director if you are interested in any of these programs.

All sports offered by Holy Spirit have a $40 registration fee and a $50 uniform deposit. (Uniform deposit is refunded once the uniform is returned at the end of the season.)

Holy Spirit's Men's Club hosts four Monte Carlo Nights each year. Each parent is required to work one Monte Carlo night for each sport a family participates in per season. This allows us to hold our registration fees at $40.

Coaching Information
Anyone interested in coaching may contact the commissioner of the sport you wish to coach. You must be at least 21 years old to be a head coach.

All coaches in the Diocesan Recreation Association are required to complete the Protecting God's Children Workshop and have their fingerprints on file in the Parish Office.
